As summer break is approaching, I have been asking myself, “What am I going to do?!” For the first time in months, I will have lots of “me time.” This is exciting! I have been sick of going to class and slaved to a strict schedule, ready for some excitement and change in my life. This summer is going to be a very rewarding summer. It will be my last summer at home as an undergraduate and I plan to make it a good one! So, what am I going to do? Well, I will not be lazy. I have grown a lot in my faith this school year. I plan to read my bible and other fruitful books to continue growing (I enjoy reading now. I haven’t always). Also, there are a lot of things on my 101 In 1001 list that I want to complete! AH I am really excited about that! Most importantly, I want to continue living a life worthy of eternity with Jesus. Matthew 6 is great! It is a great passage to read and meditate on before summer time comes and the sun gets to us and we become lazy. Matthew 6:21 says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” What is your treasure? Read this passage, come up with a summer plan and determine what it is you treasure.
Lay Up Treasures in Heaven
19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness
24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
